Key Topics This Term

We start the year with our mountains and volcanoes topic. We learn all about the conquest of Everest in 1953 and research the lives of Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary (the first two men up Everest). For the last two years, we have been lucky and had a live video chat with Jamling Norgay in Nepal (the son of Tenzing Norgay) and asked him all about Everest. We then turn our focus to Settlers and invaders looking at the struggle between the Vikings and Anglo Saxons for the Kingdom of England. In Science, we are studying electricity. Our topic for RE this term is Hinduism. In art, we will be looking at Viking and Saxon art, researching and building our own Viking longships.
