Our PE Funding means exceptional improvement in the physical education offered to all children, an increase in the range and quality of resources and increase opportunities for competitive sport.

PE and Sports Premium Grant
The PE and Sports Allocation is funding provided to schools in addition to main school funding. This funding is provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport.
The funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on improving the provision of PE and sport in school.

PE Curriculum and other information
All children in key stage 2 receive 2 hours quality PE per week, children in key stage 1 receive an average of 1.5 hours. This can go up by an additional 2 hours per week with extra curricular activities. 70% of children in years 4-6 participate in an extra curricular sporting activity with 30% taking part in two or more clubs.
We were awarded our Schools Games Platinum Certificate in 2019, following many years of Gold awards. We have since been awarded the Gold award in subsequent years.
We also received the Oxfordshire Lawn Tennis Association School of the year award in 2022.
As a school we are very successful in inter school competitions. Over the past few years we have competed in the following competitions at town, and district level:
-Athletics, cross country, cricket, gymnastics, tennis, swimming, netball.
As a school we are part of the Abingdon Partnership of Schools' football league for both boys and girls competitions.
This year we won the Abingdon Partnership Boys swimming competition and were joint winners in the Boys' Abingdon Town Schools' football league.
Our year 4 red tennis team (supported by some year 3 and 2 players) won the Abingdon Partnership competition.
All children in year 4 and 6 took part in the Abingdon partnership quadkids athletics competition with Our year 4 team coming in third place.
We were vale gymnastics champions in 2020 and County Champions in gymnastics in 2019 (the last time the competition took place.)
We regularly take part in Dance performances at the New Theatre Oxford as part of the Oxfordshire schools dance festival and the Great British Dance off.
