Sports Premium
Our PE Funding means exceptional improvement in the sports results, quality of resources and increase opportunities for competitive sport.

The PE and Sports Allocation is funding provided to schools in addition to main school funding. This funding is provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport.
The funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on improving the provision of PE and sport in school.

We plan to use Sports Premium to fund the following
- Support and co-ordinate extra curricular activities
- Attend school competitions (including hire of a mini-bus for some events)
- PE development and support for all children.
- Employ a sports coach and a dance teacher.
- Equipment for delivery of the curriculum and extra curricular activities.
- To buy into the Abingdon and Vale Partnership
All children in key stage 2 receive 2 hours quality PE per week, children in key stage 1 receive an average of 1.5 hours. This can go up by an additional 2 hours per week with extra curricular activities. 70% of children in years 4-6 participate in an extra curricular sporting activity with 30% taking part in two or more clubs.
We were awarded our Schools Games Platinum Certificate in 2019, following many years of Gold awards.
We also received the Oxfordshire Lawn Tennis Association School of the year award in 2022.
As a school we are very successful in inter school competitions. Over the past few years we have competed in the following competitions at town, and district level:
-Athletics, cross country, cricket, gymnastics, tennis, swimming, netball.
As a school we are part of the vale football league for both boys and girls competitions.
We were vale gymnastics champions in 2020 and County Champions in gymnastics in 2019 (the last time the competition took place.)
We have in the past been town and county cricket champions for both boys and girls competitions and are the current girls cricket champions for the Abingdon Partnership.
We also take part in Dance performances at the New Theatre Oxford as part of the Oxfordshire schools dance festival and the Great British Dance off.
